I like the artstyle and the concept is cool. The voices weren't very good or understandable in the first part though, and there wasn't really enough accentuation in that last double Mario part with the Dr. Mario part. I love the way it escalated though. And the hats saying "Weeg" and "Mehrio" are a cool detail. The first part was funny too, with the double reveal and Dr. Mario being so creepy and weird. The ending with Knuckles was just weird and I have no idea what it was supposed to be. It was pretty funny in a random way though.
Overall a pretty funny and entertaining little animation, but it needs a bit more accentuation sometimes and the voices aren't very good.

Whenever I record myself I have a hard time saying the lines properly (and the fact that english is not my first language doesn´t help either), but when I'm with my friends doing impressions and spewing dumb crap I think I'm not half bad. Guess it's just a matter of practice.

Thanks for your comment!

You're not the first person to do this idea, but it was still funny. I like the characters and their heroic deeds, like stopping people from drinking too much at night. I loved The Guy™'s incredibly convoluted way of explaining the Shapeshifter situation. I also like how the kid cheered up so much when they told him it was a shapeshifter. The bar clapping was cool too. That bit with MySpace at the end was just weird though, couldn't you have found a way to incorporate that anywhere else? Maybe some more heroic music when he thrust himself off the wall would have worked better, too. I loved the voice acting, even though The Guy's way of speaking gets annoying after a while. Maybe tone that down slightly if you do more of this.
Overall, this was fun, but some things could have been better. Keep at it!

Thanks a bunch for the great comment, and valuable notes - I will be sure to keep note of his voice in the future episode if i do pursue more with him - Cheers!

Ha, that was great! I really like the characters, though I probably already said that for the most recent one. I enjoyed both Sublo and Tangy Mustard's customer-attracting techniques. The voice acting was good, and I especially loved the boss. His accent is so over-the-top and I loved that segment where he was yelling at them with detailed character animation. I agree with @Xuvero, it does feel very chill with the joke delivery. For instance, when mr. DICK rolled over the counter, it was a thing you could easily miss, but it was a little treat for those paying attention. That ending was great and I loved how you set up Tangy Mustard forgetting the names for the payoff of him saying "I know". That line was delivered very well, too. The ending where everyone started laughing was just beautiful too. That commercia was funny too, with Sublo being such a gross weirdo and the cheesy way the sandwiches solve everything. I love how the costumes look nothing like the commercial. The animation isn't the most fluid, but it really doesn't need to be.

Aaron-Long responds:

Thanks for the in-depth review! I agree, the animation in the first couple of episodes is pretty clumsy compared to later on. I was trying to keep it very minimal and loose so I could animate them faster, but in the end I wasn't really happy with the results so I started putting more effort in around episode 3 and 4. Visuals aside, glad you seem to have liked the rest of this episode though! I think Mr. Wubhamer is a polarizing character because he's so over-the-top and doesn't really fit with the more naturalistic other characters, but I have a lot of fun voicing and animating him!

Awww, the ending was so cute! The animation was really nice, and I really liked Peach starting to pull her face off. Bowser was really cute throughout the whole thing. Interesting how, even in his own dreams, Peach is not eager to marry Bowser. I love the ending, I did not expect that to be his reaction to Mario being in bed with him. So was the dream Bowser battling his inner homophobia and the expectations that pressure him? I'mma go with yes.

Huh. That was very interesting. The animation wasn't always at the same level if quality, but it was pretty good overall. I liked the character and the premise was, of course, really cool. The music was great, both fun and unsettling, though at some points it switched a bit abruptly. I really liked the cult stuff, like the gramophone and the weird monster thing. That sacrifice scene was super disturbing, because you were just anticipating it for so long, and the blood came gushing out of the person's mouth. The guts bursting out like that undermined the horror a bit, but it did fit the insanity of the music and everything. Not a huge fan of the thing lifting up its mask, lots of eyes and things just doesn't scare me. Seemed pointless from a story point, too. If the monster wanted to be showing its disciples its face, it wouldn't be wearing a mask. You could say it's aware of Pippy's presence, but it still doesn't feel quite right. The puke monsters were also a largely pointless diversion, though I did like her puking, that's always a bit of additional weight to the horror. Maybe showing us that directly would have been even more shocking. I mean, you didn't shy away from gore, so why this? The 3D thing coming out was just a big annoyance for me. I know it's supposed to be incomprehensible, but I still think you should have left the cult a bit more vague. A weird creature entertaining some brainwashed gas mask people by slicing someone up is scarier to me than a big pen coming out of someone. The ending, too, wasn't great. The gore looks coo land all, but a creepier approach with just her eyes bleeding like you already had and then something to finish it off would have been better than her face straight-up exploding. The paintings when Pippy was sliding through the walls weren't that scary, and I would have preferred if the house was more run down and empty, this way it's weirdly empty, but also not completely run down. About the intro, I think it could have been done better. I don't understand why the tree was retracting its branch like that. Was it supposed to be a subversion of expectations, because we were meant to assume the balloons were gonna pop? But then you shouldn't have had the branch move, just the balloons get closer. It was just confusing and awkward this way. I did really like the way the balloons and chimney seemed to have minds of their own, and the way the chimney was sneezing and didn't seem to be quite alright while doing it, signifying the weirdness of the house. The sun turning into the moon was great too. That happy end card at the end really got me!
Overall, this was a mixed bag. Some really cool stuff and some pointless and non-fitting stuff. It was interesting enough for me to follow you, though!

ClockworkPixel responds:

Thanks for the feedback. My job involes animating stale, toothless corprate videos so whenever i make my own stuff i like to throw everything and anything at the wall and see what sticks.
Always good to go wild and experiement, hear what people think then adapt for latet productions. So cheers for the indepth review, gives me a lot to consider

The animation wasn't great (though there were some pretty good bits), but I did find the facial expressions quite funny coupled with some of the sound effects, especially the princess's face just entirely sinking in towards the beginning. Some stuff was a bit weird, like, I couldn't tell what would have actually been going on in the movie. For example, the way she just started hyperventilating like that. I also don't get Shrek holding a flower at one point, it wasn't funny and it only kinda related to the conversation. Like I said, though, the facial expressions were great and they weren't as exaggerated as they sometimes can be, which allowed them to stick out more. Both of them were so derpy in their own way, like Shrek was grumpy and she was annoyed.
Overall, it's an entertaining bit of reanimation, though not the most clear in terms of character moods sometimes.

An interesting concept, but it doesn't seem like there's that much point to it. The animation was also very, very choppy. I feel like yoy should have accentuated the sad phases more, they just felt kinda awkward. And what was the point of the Alien Hand Syndrome guy? Was he the comic relief? I mean, I know you're trying to make this a series, and you're probably not gonna give all the characters development in tye first episode, but there just really wasn't much point to him. The clock was a cool way to represent the bipolar character, though. Maybe it would have been better to use some sort of toilet stall-esque indicator instead, because I doubt people with bipolar disorder are so regular when it comes to their mood swings. The little added descriptions at the start and end were nice too. Music was pretty cool too. One thing that was really awkward were the audience characters, because their legs were completely cut off.
Overall, a cool concept, but not executed very well and not well animated.

Oh man, this is your first animation? It's very nice and fluid and I really like the story and attention to detail. The animation style I really like, wherever I find it. That ending was so dramatic, and I like how they saved one of the clones. The part where the clone was being sent out was really sad to me, because he thought it was all really nice and cool. The other happy clones greeting him also added to that. I like the designs for the factions, they're cool and distinct. The music was also nice and tense during the tense parts. The ending as well as the whole episode is basically saying "war seems cool until you have to do it yourself". I liked the detail of that one clone soldier not stopping to go into the clone room and the fact that there was an alarm on when they were escaping. I would have liked to see some androids coming after them as they get away, it's simply not believable that there would be no guards ready. That android playing with the butterfly also adds to the message. I like how the big heads of the military are so cold and uncaring, being free to do a presentation that they subsequently copyright. That presentation was pretty funny, especially with the 404 and Step 5. Thanks for the recap, too, it was very useful.
Great job, I really wanna see more of this!

This is my first animated series. I have watched a few tutorials and made really really quick test animations but wanted to try and put my efforts towards creating something all while learning. I'm glad you're enjoying it! And I also appreciate all the feedback :D

It's interesting to me how Chutney seems a bit more huma in this one. I actually like this slightly rougher style. The wolf also looked really cool, especially when the background went all black. You just managed to capture his teeth so well in the close-ups. The ending was great as well, and I love how Chutney just thought the wolf was grandma the whole time. Them reading a book together was so cute too! Too bad grandma had to come back and ruin the mood! I love how you incorporated the slaps into the end credits. The animation was great throughout the whole thing as well. The sound effects for grandma emerging were kinda weird though, but the wolf ones were nice. That bloody background, too. And let's not forget the beautiful house exterior! Great job on this one, dude!

ChutneyGlaze responds:

Thank you! Yes, hopefully for our movie we can bring in the creepy factor just like in this one. Once I get 2 little drawings outta the way, its business time!

This looks like it's gonna be great! I like the cute but dark opening narration. The animation looks great as well, and I really like all the characters and the detail in their introductions. They all look super weird. I wonder what Sir Joe Penis is like. The music is great and fun, too.
Overall a really fun trailer that sure has got me hyped!
