A predictable plot, but you had a pretty nice aesthetic going on. The animation during most of it was choppy, but some lipsync animations and little things like that are quite nice. The action started out pretty nice, and I liked the papyrus skeletons, they look really cool. Beyond that first skeleton, though, it got so choppy it was just distracting. Three skeleton attack was still pretty nice. The voice acting was pretty good, but it feels kinda cliched. I can't say it doesn't fit the characters though. The character designs are pretty nice as well. Another specific thing I have to add is that the music during the fight kicks in very abruptly and doesn't really fit the situation, since it cuts out when he's choked. And the little girl's lips don't move for her first line.
Overall, not very original and has some general flaws, but it has a neat visual aesthetic and some pretty nice animation bits.

I greatly appreciate your take on what should be fixed in this. In the future episodes, I'll do my best to flesh out the animations better and work on improving the pacings and sound design. Thank you very much for the critique!

Pretty funny. I really liked Sublo's extreme new look. Like @Xuvero said, I like how Tangy Mustard just goes over to Katy because he's so worried about Sublo and Katy reacts meaningfully as well. Then the way they go into "it's a sexual thing" is great. Wubhammer's reaction is also priceless and I love the music during that segment. The girls at the start sound perfect in terms of voice. Ending's perfect as well (and the voices are, too, like always). About the metaphor thing, it is a bit weird. Sublo was definitely doing this because of his insecurity, which fits the character, but it is true some people might take offense. Because just changing your look can be done for lots of reasons. This is one of them, to make people understand what you're supposed to be like, so can't really fault you for that. But it's a conflicting thing. He says no one likes the boring him, so it means he did this for people to like him, not to understand that he's a submarine. Maybe those kinda go hand in hand, but they're not really the same in this case. It's a bit confusing either way.
Overall, it's a fun episode, but the story's a little weak and confusing.

Aaron-Long responds:

Yeah I think this one could've used another rewrite to clarify things a bit.

That was funnier than I was expecting a promo to be! His "piece" looked really weird, so I didn't like that joke very much. I loved the ending with all the baseball players showing up. Got real spooky. I liked the joke about the 4K too. But wait, is that true?

CharlieEmerson responds:

Thanks for the comment! I agree his "piece" is strange looking, and yes! It is 4k ready where available!

@Xuvero's review was quite interesting on the subject of their differences, but I'd like to add something to it. Tangy Mustard is, indeed, the cool one. He doesn't care what other people think and he's confident, unlike Sublo, who is awkward and insecure. We saw this when Sublo tried to draw a beard on his facehole to be cooler. This actually makes sense with their dynamic. Sublo goes along with Tangy Mustard, which is why they're so similar. Sublo is impressionable so Tangy Mustard's confidence imprints on him. At least that's my thought on the subject.
Anyways, about the actual episode. It was funny. The animation was once again pretty nice. I liked how Sublo & Tangy Mustard legit reiterated everything the other said the whole time. It wasn't just a joke you threw together. Also loved Tangy Mustard's creepy backwards speaking and the way he had to subsequently explain everything. Katy's attitude fit perfectly and I quite like Xuvero's explanation in regards to it.
Great job again, I have to watch the next episode soon! You really are talented.

Aaron-Long responds:

These are some good insights! I've been thinking about this stuff lately since I've been working on pitches for the show, and trying to verbalize the characters' personalities instead of just intuitively writing them like that. I think when I was writing the first few episodes I wasn't really conscious of this stuff but it just kind of naturally developed like that somehow, based on the performances and what I thought would be fun.

My God, this was fantastic! Definitely the best one yet! I really liked the wacky character animation and Katy got some really nice character development. Everything really showed how hard she's trying to fit in and how stressed-out she is. Loved the guy throwing her off the table they were dancing on. The snow on the outside also looked really nice. I was pretty much expecting this episode. Every comedy these days decides to get serious at some point and introduce character development. You did that masterfully. I knew it was gonna happen from the moment it started when I saw the beautiful snow, but you still made this feel like it was Sublo & Tangy Mustard, not a different show. The whole thing was packed with some of the best jokes so far and the character development was delivered in such a way that it didn't stop Sublo & Tangy Mustard's antics. I really loved the escalation of the fight, especially Marvin breaking the plastic cup. Tangy Mustard's dancing and ability to get with Vanessica (great name btw) was also funny to me. The guy who brought the rock and Sublo's reaction to him were great as well. I also liked the more subtle joke of Sublo missing the meaning of Tangy Mustard saying "thirsty girls". Wubhammer's hobby was also really funny, and it really came around in the end.
Like I said, some of the best jokes yet and some wonderful character development and cool animation.

Aaron-Long responds:

Yeah I wanted to strike a balance between maintaining the usual tone of the show and getting into more varied situations so we can get to know the characters better outside of work. This is probably still my personal favourite episode.

Hahaha, I love this one! The fight was great and I just can't get enough Tangy Mustard. His knuckle sandwich and cup full of sugar were just great. Loved Sublo yelling "That's not on the menu!", too. Wubhammer was just amazing as always. I loved Katy's mature cup tower and her face at the end and when Wubhammer says "And that's a metaphor!" I loved that part in general. Funny how the crowd got so into it as well. The third guy's line was a bit quiet though, could you tell me what he said? The absurdly cheesy ending with them dancing and being best friends out of nowhere echoed the last episode, and was great in this one as well.
Great job on this one, it was really funny!

Aaron-Long responds:

Thanks! The third guy says "you better bring it, Sublo!"

A fun idea, even if it's in a state of roughness. I wish there were more sound effects and the scalpel one wasn't so weird. The tablet one also wasn't synced very well or fitting-sounding. The dog's face while peeing was weird, and the filter over the background was annoying and kinda took away from the immersion. Also, at the ending, the dog should look the same as it did at the start, like it's trying to pretend nothing happened.
Overall a cool idea but needs a lot more polish.

sheshu responds:

Thank you for your valuable comments. I have noted them all and will soon do the necessary corrections.

I like the artstyle and the concept is cool. The voices weren't very good or understandable in the first part though, and there wasn't really enough accentuation in that last double Mario part with the Dr. Mario part. I love the way it escalated though. And the hats saying "Weeg" and "Mehrio" are a cool detail. The first part was funny too, with the double reveal and Dr. Mario being so creepy and weird. The ending with Knuckles was just weird and I have no idea what it was supposed to be. It was pretty funny in a random way though.
Overall a pretty funny and entertaining little animation, but it needs a bit more accentuation sometimes and the voices aren't very good.

JohnMamer responds:

Whenever I record myself I have a hard time saying the lines properly (and the fact that english is not my first language doesn´t help either), but when I'm with my friends doing impressions and spewing dumb crap I think I'm not half bad. Guess it's just a matter of practice.

Thanks for your comment!

You're not the first person to do this idea, but it was still funny. I like the characters and their heroic deeds, like stopping people from drinking too much at night. I loved The Guy™'s incredibly convoluted way of explaining the Shapeshifter situation. I also like how the kid cheered up so much when they told him it was a shapeshifter. The bar clapping was cool too. That bit with MySpace at the end was just weird though, couldn't you have found a way to incorporate that anywhere else? Maybe some more heroic music when he thrust himself off the wall would have worked better, too. I loved the voice acting, even though The Guy's way of speaking gets annoying after a while. Maybe tone that down slightly if you do more of this.
Overall, this was fun, but some things could have been better. Keep at it!

PollonsProductions responds:

Thanks a bunch for the great comment, and valuable notes - I will be sure to keep note of his voice in the future episode if i do pursue more with him - Cheers!

Ha, that was great! I really like the characters, though I probably already said that for the most recent one. I enjoyed both Sublo and Tangy Mustard's customer-attracting techniques. The voice acting was good, and I especially loved the boss. His accent is so over-the-top and I loved that segment where he was yelling at them with detailed character animation. I agree with @Xuvero, it does feel very chill with the joke delivery. For instance, when mr. DICK rolled over the counter, it was a thing you could easily miss, but it was a little treat for those paying attention. That ending was great and I loved how you set up Tangy Mustard forgetting the names for the payoff of him saying "I know". That line was delivered very well, too. The ending where everyone started laughing was just beautiful too. That commercia was funny too, with Sublo being such a gross weirdo and the cheesy way the sandwiches solve everything. I love how the costumes look nothing like the commercial. The animation isn't the most fluid, but it really doesn't need to be.

Aaron-Long responds:

Thanks for the in-depth review! I agree, the animation in the first couple of episodes is pretty clumsy compared to later on. I was trying to keep it very minimal and loose so I could animate them faster, but in the end I wasn't really happy with the results so I started putting more effort in around episode 3 and 4. Visuals aside, glad you seem to have liked the rest of this episode though! I think Mr. Wubhamer is a polarizing character because he's so over-the-top and doesn't really fit with the more naturalistic other characters, but I have a lot of fun voicing and animating him!
