This episode is up there with episodes 4 and 10 for me. The score is absolutely beautiful and emotional. I really like what this one had to offer both in terms of plot development and meaning. The twist was great, and Mischief's face opening up is a pretty haunting sight. I really want to see what happens when Henryk comes home. The whole family tree's kinda confusing, but I guess it can advance a lot in just 100 years. Great granddaughter, huh? The imagery was great as well, with Henryk standing on the building and Mischief being able to slither around it. Might be symbolic of Mischief's ability to choose to be happy.
Speaking of symbolism, I loved it in this. I feel like it ties into my theories of radical freedom. Mischief chooses to be happy, while Henryk is indeed acting in bad faith, unable to move on from the loss of his family, which provided him with meaning. Some people are complaining about Henryk's silly face, and it is pretty silly, but I feel like it also makes Henryk seem vulnerable, which is something I liked about this episode. It showed that Henryk is falling apart (not literally).
So yeah, this was a doozy! In a good way, of course. The plot progressed a lot, music was off the charts, some great imagery and some interesting bits of meaning.
