That was a phenomenal episode! The animation was really gorgeous at times, and the colors were absolutely beautiful. The beginning looked especially gorgeous. You also blended seriousness and funyness together really well, I made many snorting sounds with my nose, it was that funy! I loved the epic music starting and stopping and the intense escalation of destruction. The second sun eating his space chips got me as well. This also explains so much of the story! I love it! I'm sorry if this review is kinda half-assed, my first impressions were last night before this was uploaded to NG and now they've kinda worn off and then I got distracted looking up how to snap my fingers. I can snap my fingers now!!! Keep it up, Chut!
Edit: great sound design too, I love Skull Lord's voice. Loved the baby patrons too lol.

ChutneyGlaze responds:

You heckin learning to snap is cool as beans 😎
Thanks Trickster

7/10 no spaghetti
But for real, that's not spaghetti. The idea's been done before, but I still like it. I liked the performance of the giant. The voice acting was a bit too much, though. Ziti was so annoyingly over-the-top it was basically toddler level. I liked his "I love you guys" part though, that worked. The general's expression when he saw the rest of the pasta was great too. Keep it up, I like stuff like this, but maybe ease up on the silliness of the voices.

CacklingPumpkins responds:

Thank you for the feedback! And I'll keep what you said about the voices in mind and try to experiment a bit.

I love the lyrics, some funny fuckin rhymes. Nice visualisations too. Loved the later part, really ramped up the highness. Twist was kinda predictable, but I liked it. It was the right ending for this. I think the vocals could have been louder, they were a bit hard to make out at the start. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it. I’ll make sure to listen for low audio levels.

Great, I love the fact you named some newer clocks. It has a whole fleshed out storyline with character development, flashbacks, humor, conflict, drama... everything. Animation, sounds and music are also classic. For real, this managed to be extremely fun while retaining the classic feel. Happy Clock Day and all hail the King Of The Portal, Bill Murray!

Happy Clockday!

Wow. Wow, wow, wow! I love this! So much effort put into it, so much creativity. This is really a work with soul. It's not just something you made to look like you're so deep or whatever.
It's got a good sense of humor, but it's also got a really interesting reality-bending story that isn't spoonfed to the viewer. Now, my guess is, in regards to the meaning, that this guy is imagining all of this as he's dying, reliving his last moments, at the end realizing the fact he's dead. This comes from the flower guy's "monologue" showing him phasing through a door and getting chopped in half and the repeated transitions through his head. Versions of him that have been chopped in half are also pretty common in the movie. The thing that confuses me is the ever-growing building.
The animation is amazing, I love the textures. Sometimes it feels like a more conventional but well animated cartoon, other times it's a little Gilliam-esque. The sounds are also incredibly ambient and serve the story well.
Keep it up, I've followed you already!

PorriDge4 responds:

Thank you so much for your kind words! You really made my day there.
I have to say, i liked your interpretation of the thing, even to the point where my original intentions fade out a bit.
In my opinion, the formentioned "flower guy" also could be describing to the main character how him passing through the door is connected to the addition of more disfunctional bodies and how the growth of the building is influenced by them growing in number directly. Also, yes, the building relates to the hero in some way, as it was shown in the monologue. I wouldn't want to point out a lot of things specifically, because it might spoil the whole idea, however I think that an Idea of paying close attention to the main characters anatomy would be a good one

Haha, I liked the artstyle, fit perfectly, the story was pretty funny, but the ending was so predictable! Couldn't you have had him try to get the woman out only to realize he's a beetle and can't do shit or something? Her melting was funny though. Nice music, by the way! Could have been louder, though.
An OK bizarre short that could have been a bit more original.
Edit: Wow, thanks for changing it! Definitely a lot more original now, not what I expected at all haha! Music is also nicer. You really came up with an obstacle a beetle couldn't overcome that I never would have thought of. I've bumped the score by a star.

Slintas responds:

Thank you! Oh, I agree. It could have been more original, indeed. Actually, since we now can edit video files on NG, I'm gonna go change the ending.

Love constructive criticism!

Damn, that's some really nice animation and you picked q fun clip to animate, really allowed you to go creative. The character animation was really over-the-top and expressive, and I found the rough style and colors very unique, not something you see very often in these. Loved how you started doing the transitions and switching styles, the lightning and church mural looked great. Very cool visual gags, things always moving, lots of detail, slightly too frequent with the wackiness for me but it has a nice escalation and progression. Keep it up, I'd love to see more from you!

I appreciate this very much, thank you!

That audio quality hurt my ears, but I guess that was the point. I really don't know how to feel about this, I get it's supposed to eh a parody but it's also really short and not much happens. Hasn't really got anything funny, I'm sorry. Try making your voice acting easier to understand and work on improving your animation and just adding things to it, I guess. Having some jokes or punchlines or funny references, even though I wouldn't get them. This just felt pointless, not really parodying anything and having nothing justifying the mashing of berserk and jackass, this coming from someone who has never seen either.

chickenshitproductio responds:

audio quality is bad cause my mic is really bad. like 2006 yt mic, webcam mic bad. for the rest of your comment. I get it. it doesn't make much sense especially if u haven't seen either. but anyway in berserk anime everytime guts(the big sword dude) hits anything it makes clang noise, that's the seconf part the first part i was rying out this new automatic lip sync feature and my graphic tablet. Also idk if this help but berserk(2016-17) has really bad animation.

I'm sorry, but not much really happens here, I'm not seeing the bad or the public in this transport, I mean I guess it's implied that it's bad and it's certainly strange but maybe the public could have been shown better. I do like the style and aesthetic and the portal looks and sounds really cool. I'm just not really sure it's really Movie Portal material, you know? It also went by pretty fast, could have gone a bit slower and been a tad more atmospheric that way, especially with the quick pans. Would love to see what you submit next, though.

ericpolley responds:

I completely agree, thank you!
